Little Bears Staff
Message from Headteacher

Hi, I’m Miss Gilfoyle and I am a teacher in the EYFS team teaching Nursery, which I am very excited about. I am in my sixth year of teaching after qualifying from the University of Chester in 2014. I love teaching creative subjects like art and I also love technology. I love making learning as creative and hands on as possible for the children. Out of school, I enjoy travelling and my favourite places I have visited so far are New York, Chicago and Niagara Falls. I also love spending time with my two guinea pigs as well as my Russian Blue cats.

Hello, I am Mrs Scrase. I have been working at Brierley since November 2018 and really enjoy the time in Nursery, seeing how the new children grow in confidence and preparing the older children for life in Reception. In my spare time, I love to travel and have lived abroad in both Tenerife and Dubai. I also like creative writing, days out with friends and exploring the local area.
I deal with all the Little Bears paperwork. I am the person on the other end of the phone when you ring the school. I know that starting nursery can be a worrying time for parents and we all do what we can to make sure that both children and parents settle in as quickly as possible.
I have two children who keep me busy and at home we have two rabbits. My favourite part of my job is when it is leading up to Christmas and we have lots of things going on for the children, such as visiting the panto, Christmas plays and Christmas parties, the children get so excited which is lovely to see.

Hello, my name is Karen. I am the cook at Brierley Primary School. I am married, with 2 children and 2 dogs. I like Formula One and Rugby. I also like going to bingo with Wendy the midday assistant!

If your child attends full days you will get to know some of our mid day team:
John Stephenson, Sara Roberts, Sharon Hunt, Wendy Brereton & Vicky Garratt.
The mid-day team are a happy, active crew – football, rounders, skipping and team games to name just a few of the activities you may see them participating in over lunchtime. All have, or have had members of their family at Brierley.
